Sadie had a great night. Her evening wasn't wonderful leading up; she was over tired and fighting sleep (unintentionally), but she made some huge progress last night and this morning. I really am at a loss on how to explain the situation with Sadie’s ankle. Change of plan..After CT Scan and Xray there has been a major change in plan... we met with Dr. M and Sadie will be having a sub-taylor fusion and calcanueus osteotomy (cutting of the heel bone). It took a long time to get a call from the doctor, mostly because the original bone scan was not done as ordered and the radiologist and surgeon needed to talk. Once they talked it was agreed that Sadie needed to re-do her bone scan with the original orders to get the best pictures of her ankle. Today was probably Sadie's best day yet. She has less pain and we have taken her pain medication down a tiny bit. I wanted to give another quick update this evening.Here are Sadie's surgery sites right after surgery.This is her today... with the help of dad, Sadie was able to put some weight on her left leg today for about 10 seconds. It does cause her a bit of pain in her knee, but we were proud she tried (her own idea). She did it one other time later in the night to see the snow (yes, I said snow!).

Sadie needs prayer...Earlier this afternoon Sadie was having some issues with itching on her back. When I questioned the exact location of the itching, it happened to be in the same place as where she had a shingles out-break in October 2008. Home is what the doctor ordered. I am very pleased to report that Sadie was able to get a TON of sleep last night. It seems like her body knew just when to wake up for medicine because not once did I have to rely on the alarm I set to keep us on track. Today was surgery and currently Sadie is sleeping. Surgery started late... about an hour late, she was very brave in the face of a lot of fears when heading to the OR. She did amazing! Surgery it is.So, last week we meet with Dr. M the surgeon who did Sadie’s last synovectomy and after reviewing both her CT scan and MRI confirmed there are issues that need to be addressed surgerically. Sadie is doing much better from the RND. She continues to do land and water therapy and swim for good mobility. Sadie has been doing really well. The doctors decided that she needed to remain on the Acyclovir (anti-viral) as long as she is in on any kind of immune suppressing medications. Sadie has had a couple of hard weeks. Starting around the first week of the month she started having some swelling in her ankle again and was showing more signs that she was in pain. GREAT NEWS!!! Sadie has had a great few weeks since surgery. She stopped taking pain medication on Friday and hasn't had any problems at all to speak of. Sadie's blood work came back from the latest Lymes testing and it actually did the opposite of what it should have done to confirm Lymes. Last Thursday we went and met with the Lymes doctor again. I found myself having a million questions and starting to become skeptical of it all. Sorry for the long delay in updating the site. Sadie had her appointment with Dr. Wallace on the 11th and for the first time since March 05' we heard: "NO INFLAMMATION"!!!!!!!!!! Thank you all so much for the prayers about Sadie; the appointment today went better then I could have ever imagined, it is an answer to prayer. The orthopedic surgeon was probably one of the most straight forward, clear cut doctors I have ever met and I appreciated him so much. There will be no surgery for Sadie in the near future!!! It has been a while since I have posted anything, but for good reason. We really took in the spirit of the season and enjoyed our time with family and friends. Quick update: Sadie's Remicade infusion went very well, nothing to report of. The one medication that she is taking Imuran (which replaces the Methotrexate) has caused Sadie to have an allergic reaction, so we removed her from that and re-introduced the medication after the hives cleared up to confirm that was what made her break out. Yesterday we removed her from that medication again as the
