Just a quick and positive update on Sadie. She saw the doctor last week to look over her incisions issue; it looks to be doing MUCH better and they feel that a piece of cotton probably absorbed into her skin after surgery (while she was in the cast). Over time it will dissolve, but this is why there is a bump under there and probably why (although not clear) there was an issue with it. She did therapy last Thursday and again Tuesday and is improving quite a bit even with the speed bump she hit two weeks ago. She does have lots of therapy to continue at home as she has a hard time getting some of the muscles in her foot to work properly, but lots of hope that it will return soon. The therapist can tell she is doing her at home work out and with her going back to swim twice a week and pool therapy (started today) she feels we don't need to be back to see her until MARCH - yes, MARCH!!!!! She gave Sadie some goals to accomplish by that visit, but what a relief to know that she doesn't have to keep heading all the way to Children's for therapy twice a week!
Sadie is walking very well and best news of all – NO PAIN!! NONE!! She is feeling really great!! Praise God!! This flare up and medical stuff has been non-stop since March of 05'- so this is truly a huge blessing and answer to prayer for her to not feel any pain!!!!!!!!!!
I was reflecting today how the 13th will be the two month mark from Sadie's surgery. The prediction prior to surgery was that she would not even be putting weight on her foot at this point; but her reality is MUCH greater than this. She is walking, running, playing, laughing, enjoying life and feeling no pain!!!! Another answer to prayer and huge blessing is that the calendar is clearing! Her next appointment is in FEBRUARY!!! I can not even remember the last time we had no appointments for a week on the calendar, but THREE weeks!! Thank you for your prayers, please continue to pray that this surgery was the turning point in Sadie's healing; as she has been doing well beyond expectations at this point.
