Sadie is officially a member of the walking team!
You can go to: http://www.seattlejinglebellrun.org/site/TR?px=1018941&fl=en_US&s_tafId=-1&pg=personal&fr_id=1010 and view our team and see Sadie’s personal walk site.
I am overwhelmed by the amount of success we are having with our fundraising; the team is doing an awesome job and I couldn’t be more honored that people are taking their precious time and money to help our team reach our goal. We still need to raise about $2,300 which equals about $79.00 a day, but I have confidence I will soon be posting that we met or exceeded our goal.
Sadie is doing well, her cold seems to be quite and the doctor felt she was well enough to get her flu shot. Flu shots are vital for anyone with a chronic auto-immune disorder as it takes these people much longer to recover from any illness and since they often are running low on immunity in the first place they are more susceptible to any virus. That said all the “girls” in the house were lucky enough to receive shots and once Bill is over his cold, he will be next in line. Sadie seems to be handling the colder weather remarkably well. I keep waiting for her to be a little sore, but she seems to be holding her own. Let’s continue to pray that her medications work as they should to help quite the arthritis and give her time to gain some of her strength back.
Sadie is disappointed that she wasn’t able to play basketball (a new found love on the play-ground); we didn’t feel her ankle was really strong enough at this point. Bill and I have seen a new talent come out of her that we are both very excited about. Sadie seems to have a very strong ability to memorize things; this said we will be looking into what type of drama programs she can get involved in either at school, church or otherwise. If you have any suggestions, we are open to listening.
Thank you to all who have visited this site; I know many of you know our family very well and that there are some of you who just learned about Sadie and the condition of Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis recently. It means a lot to our family that you are here!
