Some people I would like you to meet:

I posted a bit ago about another blogger I found that's daughter is of similar age and what a blessing she was in a time when we have seriously started discussing surgical options for Sadie's right ankle. Her daughter went through a hip replacement surgery (at age 11) a year ago. She posted recently a video of her daughter and I wanted to share that with you. (If the video does not appear, click on where it should be and it should then be there.)

I hope that by watching Caitlin's story it gives you an idea of another child's fight against JIA. Through watching Caitlin's story I found several other very touching video's of other children and young adults that face JIA. I have put their stories on the sidebar and hope you will take the time to watch.

Sadie Update:
Remicade on Tuesday and Wednesday is joint injections by radiation in both her ankle and subtaylor joint with marcaine (a numbing agent that will give Sadie some complete pain relief for about 8-12 hours). She has never had an injection with marcaine, but the hope is to give some good relief and allow some pain free time to jump starts the cortisone injection so it can be the most effective. Obvious prayers are around the anesthesia and that the injections work; in addition to the Remicade. Dr. W does not feel that the Remicade has had enough times to be given a full chance at doing it's best for Sadie. So far, the results are so/so. She has had improved swelling in her left knee, but continued pain and pain in her right knee and hips in addition. We see Dr. W in early October (with 2 more infusions between now and then) and at that point, we should truly know how well the Remicade is working.
