Thank you to all that have visited the site and given me feedback about it. I think this will be a good way to update people as to what is going on rather then people either not knowing or me calling people (which is really not all that realistic).
Sadie will go in for her joint injection on Monday morning; your prayers for her are needed. Joint Injections are never easy, but almost always do the trick. She will be at Children's at 6:30 in the morning and we should be home in the early afternoon. For those who don't know what happens during this process... Sadie is put under for the procedure and they will inject dye into her ankle, this helps them pinpoint the exact location of the arthritis. Then they will do two injections in her ankle one in her ankle joint and the other in her subtalar joint (this is the joint that allows your foot to move right to left). They will be doing this with an x-ray machine to assure they get the medication where it needs to be and minimize any leakage. This is the second time they have done an injection using the x-ray/dye method. It is much more precise and effective. Once this is done, she wakes up about an hour later and then stays in a recovery room with me until she is 100% awake and able to hold some fluids down on her own. It is a long day; hopefully we will head home and take a nap when it is over.
The other thing going with us is Friday we are leaving for the weekend to attend a "kids and families with JRA camp" - this should be a great opportunity for us to meet other parents who know what we are dealing with and most importantly other kids for Sadie to know are dealing with the same thing. We are very excited to go and hope to learn all kinds of new information. Hopefully we can post pictures of our camping adventure!
Please let me know if you have any feed back on the site, information I should provide or if you want me to send you and email that the site has been updated. This is new to all of us, your opinion is welcome.
