I wanted update the latest and greatest.
Tuesday's injection went much better. We did Enbrel first, then followed with the Methotrexate (mx). Once the MX was injected we put an ice pack on her arm and that seemed to help a lot. It still hurt and she was sore, but much improved over the first one.
Today she had physical therapy, we were suppose to be scheduling her in pool therapy days. What actually happened was that through much discussion, measurements and further discussion.. Sadie will have to be put in a cast for a while. Not long, just four days as a "trial" if that goes well, then for a week and we will see how that helps. After the casting she will start wearing a brace on a full time basis. There are so many issues going on in regards to the bones and how it is affecting not only her ankle, but much more than I even was aware of. Her right knee has started to turn out - this is due to her compensating in the way she walks to make it less painful. She has been doing this for years, but only now are we really seeing the signs of the damage done. Due to her knee turning out... her tibia is bowing to compensate for the knee and doing so to keep her foot "under" her. You can see where I am going with this.
I will have more details about when we will go back to have her cast put on and I will update then.
I tell ya' since June... WHAT A RIDE.
Sadie is taking all this latest pretty well... I think she was just thankful we didn't add anymore shots!
